BGCC Sunday 2nd X - vs - Bretforton’s Only Team Bretforton won the toss on Sunday and rattled up nearly 300 against a
Green XI who looked, on paper at least, unusually strong. Opener de Witts
began with a clean 6 off Skipper Wajzer judged his batting order with care, mixing left and
right hand, old and young, cautious and free-spirited. The result was
complete disaster as Sherliker and Cook lobbed easy catches and Wheeler
played on; with their main bats gone the Green were 8 for 3. Hill thought he
had seen most of this before, and dug in with Plant, but there was no
improvement. The Green had not staged a really good collapse for some time,
and this was a treat. Plant, Longmore, Price and Bradley were bowled without
delay. Wajzer showed some good defence before another fatal swipe. More mentions of
Hill, disaster, poor shots etc. can be arranged, but That's Enough - Ed. |
