At last we have a few pictures from the cricket section dinner. More are promised..
FANCY DRESS PARTY CANCELLED - SORRY.
WE HOPE TO RE-ARRANGE IT EARLY IN THE NEW YEAR.
WATCH THIS SPACE.
8th December 2005- Flynnie hits Ton.
Daniel Flynn, late of this parish, yesterday celebrated his Maiden First Class Century
for Northern Districts. His knock was enough to help his side avoid an innings defeat.

Someone needs our help.
Chris Harrison involved in a fund-raising exercise and has asked for our help in promoting this.

Remember the Christmas Party on the 16th December. Have you sorted out your costume yet?
Here's an idea. Why not pick someone else's costume for them and make them wear what you say in return
for a small donation to Club Funds. If you have a suggestion then send the details in confidence, together with their name
and a note of how much you are prepared to pay to see them look silly, to the website. We'll try to arrange it.
Many thanks to everyone who supported the latest quiz event last Saturday. Nine teams fought it out
and raised £125 for Malvern Hospital. We will be running another quiz evening soon.
Invalid News. Roy is out of hospital, sore and a little stiff... ( nothing unusual there then ), but recovering well.
He will be only too pleased to see you if you fancy popping in. Just remember to take a can of light ale with you!
League structure for the coming ( 2006 ) season.
The League committee are proposing important changes to the make-up of the league next season.
Amongst other changes this involves adoption of a "four-go-down" approach to division two,
( which will mean some of our local friends having to work hard to avoid the drop ), and the introduction
of a regional division 3. The proposed League structure can be seen here.
These proposals have not yet been adopted by the League and BGCC will be discussing them at our
forthcoming meeting. It is, as always, important that we get feedback from everyone at the club and so
if you have any constructive comments to make then feed these back to Rich Williams for him to take to
the League meeting.
Best wishes to "Roy The Mower", recovering well after his long-awaited op.
Hurry back Roy, the place looks a mess without you!
FUN QUIZ NIGHT.
Next Saturday night - 19th November - At the Club - 8pm.
Following on from previous successful quiz events, next weeks sees another chance to beat
our own bunch of EggHeads at their own game. Please come along and support.
Did YOU travel home from the dinner by coach?
If so then we want to hear from you.
Due to the absolutely underwhelming response to the polite appeal for the names of those
taking advantage of a lift home on the coach, the FEW who have been honest,
and those "fingered" by a mate, are now faced with the prospect of meeting the entire cost themselves.
The alternative is to "name and shame" those people we believe were on the coach but who have
not volunteered their information. So, come on please, enter into the spirit of things and
let Steve Freeman know on 07986 743342 or click here to email the website.
2005 Annual Dinner - An appeal and more...
Now that all recollection of this year's dinner has faded away, together with the hangovers, it's time to jog a few memories
just one more time.
Firstly, there were one or two items, such as raffle prizes, ( a batting glove in particular ), trophies, awards etc,
picked up by others after the dinner in order to avoid them being left behind.
If you have any such items then can you please let either Steve Freeman or the website know and we will
arrange for them to be returned to where they belong.
Secondly, if you travelled home on the coach then believe it or not you need to pay! In order that the final cost can
be divided fairly and kept to an absolute minimum, please let me know if you were on the coach by clicking on the link below.
No doubt everyone will be pleased to volunteer the information but please feel free to anonymously "shop" any
fellow revellers who might be tempted to try and save a couple of quid.

It' a fair cop guv ... I was on the coach !
I wasn't on the coach but I know who was !!
Thanks to everyone involved in the organisation of this year's event.
Thanks to all of our sponsors and guests.
Thanks to our committee for all of their work behind the scenes throughout the year.
And....
Thanks to all of our members for making this season one of the most successful in the club's history.
Whilst The Green website does not promote companies other than our genuine sponsors, we are keen to
entertain any ideas which can result in the generation of income for The Club.
BGCC therefore has it's own "WEBSHOP" where you can find goods and services at competitive prices.
Any purchases made through our webshop generate income directly for BGCC. Please visit the webshop
and of course any feedback from you will be appreciated. NB. the owners of barnardsgreen.com do not themselves
benefit in any way whatsoever, only The Club.
Please remember that we need as many members as possible to bring a raffle prize
to the Club Dinner on Friday. Thanks. Note, due to last minute cancelations there are still a few places left.
Contact Steve Freeman or the website if you would like to attend.
New Leisure Pool opens at the Ramada Hotel.
Pictures available on request!
We have received some interesting reactions to the discussion about team and League structure for next season,
particularly with reference to the 3rds and Singles. Please, if YOU have a view then contact the website or
one of the committee or captains etc. We have been asked to gauge opinion before the forthcoming League and
Club AGMs.
Message of thanks.
Just a quick note to all members who took time out to assist with the end of season painting party at the club
last saturday. I am pleased to say that we were able to get the tea room area and skittle alley painted as well
as
both changing rooms so many thanks to Jon, Jez, Tim, Phil and Sam, Dave,
Marek, Ian, Chris and Robin.
For those who were unavoidably detained elsewhere, please do not get too
alarmed, we have other matters
that
will need attending to and I am sure we will see you raring to go for those
tasks in due course.
A reminder about the Cricket Section Dinner.
Can you please all try to supply a raffle prize for the evening. You can either
bring it along on the night or drop it in to the club beforehand.
On a lighter note........

of certain persons and the adoption of certain practices. A new section has been added to the website
where you can find information and documentation in connection with Clubmark other subjects.
A message
from the Cricket Secretary.
The Colt's section AGM was held
on Sunday 9th October and was not particularly
well attended. The Cricket Section Secretary/Colts' coordinator wishes to pass on
numerous important matters arising from the meeting. Please click here
PAINTING PARTY.
Whilst we did have a working party weekend a few weeks ago, sadly so few people bothered attending
that we were unable to fulfill our main aim of slapping some paint onto the walls in the changing rooms
and tea room area. We have therefore decided to give you all another chance to redeem yourselves
and this Saturday coming that's the 15th October, we shall have a painting party.
There will be someone there from 11am and bacon sandwiches and drinks
will be supplied to all those who raise a brush.
Please bring along a roller and tray or a big brush and show willing,
if we get a good turnout we can blitz
the place in a couple of hours easily, a very good turnout would see it all
done in an hour!!
Please pass this message on to anyone who does not figure within my
distribution list.
Captains, can you rally your troops please.
See you all Saturday?
Your views are needed......
What if there was a possibility of The Green "Singles"and "3rds"
playing as a first and second team together in Division 4 ?
How would you feel? Would this benefit The Club by opening up the prospects
of playing for promotion? Would this introduce a more balanced approach to team
selection. Basically would YOU be in favour?
Perhaps all members could give this some thought prior to the Club Dinner please as this
will be the last chance for such matters to be discussed before the League AGM and if
the opportunity did arise we may need to move promptly.
If you have thoughts on the matter then please get in touch via the website.
FOR SALE.
This is your chance to own a prestige motor car!
A vintage, ( 1993 ), Audi has become unexpectedly available.
Resplendent in pristine white livery with one "frugal" owner and a low mileage count of
112,000, ( none of it on a Saturday or Sunday during the months April to September ), this vehicle
has to be heard to be believed. A value in the region of £800 (Scottish) has been placed on the article
by the owner, although offers in the region of 15 old shillings may well be considered.
Enquiries in the first instance to the website or you can contact the owner direct by clicking on the
following link.
Please sell me your lovely automobile.

As usual there is a great deal to do to "put the club to bed" for the winter.
We will be having a working party on Saturday and Sunday - 1st and 2nd October.
Please be at The Green at 10.30 on either, or preferably both days. It would help
if you could come armed with paintbrushes ( old or new ), as well as old clothes
and above all plenty of energy. Copious mugs of tea will be supplied.

The date for the AGM of the
cricket section has been set at Sunday 4th December.
There will be a great
deal to discuss including, amongst other things, election of committee members and team captains for the
2006 season, the standard of cricket played by Sunday teams, sponsorship, fund-raising etc etc.
Please, start to think about these things now and discuss matters with others in the club so that we have
plenty of fresh ideas on the night of the meeting.
