Evening League
With the new season nearly upon us the Evening
league will soon be under way.
After an "average" season last year reaching two finals and coming half way in
the league
we will be looking to up the anti! This looks a distinct possibility as we have
an influx of youth
in the side this year with the chase academy lads returning to the side after a
couple of years
valued experience in the evening league. (They will however have to adapt to a
much more
aggressive / positive style of captaincy this year!!). As well as this there
will be other faces new
and old bolstered by a promising overseas, all of whom will be challenging for a
place, meaning
a promising and competitive season is in store for us all.
Fixtures
Please let me know as soon as possible if you wish to be considered for the
evening league side this season.

COLTS REGISTRATION EVENING.
As both Robin, (Colts Co-ordinator), and our membership secretary Lyn Price are away for the first two
Wednesday sessions, we are holding a registration evening at the club in advance of the start of the season.
This will hopefully alleviate the usual scramble to complete registration forms and pay the subs.
This will take place at Barnards Green Cricket Club on Wednesday 11th April between 7pm and 8pm.
Please come along and register your children and have a chat with us about any concerns you may have or
anything else that you like. It would be helpful if parents could have already downloaded and completed the
registration form in advance and this can be found on the website here.
TOUR 2007 - hot news.
Jez confirms that this year’s tour will be going ahead between August 28th & August 31st 2007.
The destination is Chester which is north and as we all know by now we can’t guarantee the weather
but we will give it a go! We have booked accomodation in a central 3 star hotel at a very good rate and
also obtained a contribution towards other tour costs, (shirts, trophies, fuel etc). The total tour cost will
be released as soon as it is available. We are in the process of arranging fixtures and these will be confirmed
shortly. There may even be chance for a trip to the Chester Race Festival on the Friday!
It will be helpful to have an indication of likely numbers as soon as possible with a deposit becoming payable in May.
Please click here to register your interest in tour.
Senior Nets have started.
There was an excellent turnout to the first nets sessions of the season. For those who aren't aware, we have
booked Hanley Castle from 22nd February until 19th April between 8.00pm and 10.00pm.
You will all be delighted to hear that we have become the recipients of a Community Award from
Malvern Hills District Council.

And how do you fancy Ramblers for the final match of the season!

Pack your suntan lotion... we're off to Wales!
Jamie and Sophie are confirmed to be ... fit and well, browner and thinner and living in the
lap of luxury. They stay in contact via their website blog whilst Middleton Junior uses the
power of Sky TV to keep in touch with his parents, having made an unexpected appearance
at the second Test in Adelaide. In case you missed it, don't worry, Sky Plus is great
for recording such events and Keith will run you off a copy for a few quid!!
The annual senior citizens party was another huge success. Seventy invited friends were
wined, dined and entertained by other club members. Huge thanks to everyone involved
in making the evening such fun, especially the second XI skipper who broke all records
with the washing up as he was heard numerous times to mutter "I'm sure we haven't had all the plates yet".
There are a couple of pictures available on the website so if anyone asks whether The Green is
able to cater for parties, receptions or any other kind of function then let them know that the answer is yes.
Saturday - 2nd December. The belated "End of Season Party" at The Green.
