Evesham vs BGCC Sunday 2nd XI |
|
The
Green 2nds had no complaints after losing against a keen young Evesham side.
Skipper Wajzer did his best to rotate a blend of young and very young
seamers, but on a hot day the score rattled along at a steady 5 and 6 per
over, helped by plentiful wides and assorted other extras. Some excellent
catching by Bartlett and Rogers, some useful legspin from MacMillan, and
steady late spells by Clack and Hill, were the bright points. After
tea there was a lively opening partnership full of well-timed drives by Hill
and ferocious swipes by Rogers, but Evesham needed only one breakthrough on
the wearing track and then the collapse was inevitable. Heaton, almost at a
standstill with his injured ankle, battled well for 42, but the Green were
dismissed with overs in hand, more than 100 short. |
