Saturday League Knockout  2nds –vs- Kidderminster Victoria

On monday the seconds entertained Kidderminster Victoria in the semifinal of the saturday league knockout competition.After winning the toss the green decided to field first in a game consisting of 15 eight ball overs aside.Sam Spencer bowled exceptionaly well taking the first three wickets,reducing Kidderminster to 14 for 3 ,his 4 overs only went for 25 runs ,he well supported by Lewis Hooper who only conceded 34 runs in his 4 overs.Kidderminster were 68 for 3 after 8 overs.The only batsmen to make double figures were Trinket 25 and Rine who hit out to make 70.Kidderminster finished on 140 for 7 of their alloted overs.
In reply Jon Lewis and James(hickybo)Curtis put on 51 before Lewis was out for 27,Mark Hooper joined Curtis ,this pair put on 42 for the second wicket until Curtis was out for a fine 50.Liam Paddock 16 helped Hooper 28no closer to the target,with 7 runs required from 2 overs with eight wickets remaining it should of be a formality ,Paddock was bowled, Steve Bevan went 2 runs later ,then Steve Metcalfe was caught first ball.This caused a minor panic in the home dressing room.It was left for Mark Hooper to hit the winning runs in a 5 wicket victory.
The final is to be played at Ombersley on Monday 11th July ,The green will play Claverley who defeated Belbroughton in the other semifinal.
