The colts section AGM took place on Sunday 18th November 2012.
The meeting was well attended and supported by section members and parents.
Officers and officials were elected for the next 12 months and the strategy for provision of junior cricket
at the highest possible level was discussed and laid out. The Secretary/Treasurer reported on the healthy
state of the Junior Cricket Section and was happy to confirm no increases in subscriptions for the coming season.

on Wednesday evenings between 6pm and 8pm 6th March 2013 to 10th April 2013.
Under 11s 6pm - 7pm
Under 12s 7pm - 8pm
Under 13s 7pm - 8pm
(Nominal charge of £3 per session to cover hire of facilities.).
Registration Night - Sunday 24th March 2013
We will again hold a pre-season registration evening at the club between 5pm andl 7pm.
Outdoor practice sessions 2013 for the Under 13s and younger
will start on Wednesday 17th April 6.30pm - 8pm.

COLTS OLYMPIC CHALLENGE - Sunday 9th September 2012.
We will be running our Colts Olympics on 9th September from 2pm at Barnards Green Cricket Club.
All of our registered junior cricketers are invited to attend and will have the chance to
see a genuine olympic torch and to take part in cricket-based activities to win medals and trophies.
Parents and other family members are welcome as there will be plenty of other things going on during the afternoon.

Congratulations to The Green's under 10s who beat Rushwick in a close match recently.
Rushwick were a very strong side but some excellent bowling performances from everyone involved
saw The Green winners in the final over. You can read the match report from this and other games
in the reports section of the website.

Pre-season Newsletter - from Robin Longmore
Barnards Green Cricket Club - Colts Section. AGM.
The colts section AGM was held at the club on Sunday 6th November 2011 at 7.15pm.
Those present heard a report from Robin on yet another great season for the green
and the team and age group managers and coaches for the 2012 season were approved.
Minutes from the meeting are available upon request.
4th September - Under 11 final goes down to the wire.
Our under 11s appeared in their final against Kidderminster at Halesowen on Sunday morning.
A great performance by our talented under 11 squad saw the match go down to the last ball with Kidderminster
earning their victory by just 4 runs. A full match report is available here and photos can be seen here.
Many thanks to all of the travelling supporters including the "Green Army" and our three Chairmen
for their ( sometimes rather vocal ) support and encouragement.
Well played everyone.
And - a special message from one of our oldest members to some of our youngest:-
"Well done, you were splendid finalists, Max"
We have a game at the club this coming Friday. Our under 11's have done exceptionally well this season and
have reached the semi finals of the regional phase of their competition. We will play local rivals Rushwick
who we have already beaten twice this season, albeit in very close encounters on both occasions.
I have no doubt this game will be just as close and hopefully we can make it three wins out of three.
on and the bar will of course be open for anyone with a thirst on! It would be great to see you all down there
to give the under 11's support on the night so if you fancy an evenings entertainment come on down and bring
the parents, there will be plenty of room for them to play on the outfield away from the game.
As a REGISTERED MEMBER of The Green you will be entitled to make use
of the Club's facilities, including the nets at various times during the season. Please remember
ALWAYS to wear protective clothing, ( helmet, pads, box. gloves etc ), when batting in the nets
and most importantly CARRY YOUR MEMBERSHIP CARD WITH YOU AT ALL TIMES.

Many thanks to all of you who bought a quiz sheet and had a go at the
competition. We are pleased to
say that this raised valuable extra funds for the Colts section.
Congratulations to the winner.

Join us at the official opening of the fantastic new net facility at Northend Lane.
Thanks to the generous funding by The Joanna Brown Trust and the ECB, The Green now have training
facilities of the highest quality.
We are delighted that Tim Curtis, former Worcestershire & England batsmen
who came up through the BGCC Colts ranks will be joining us to open the facility.
Please come along from
6pm onwards. All are welcome.
Important Reminder.
The new net facility is already proving popular with everyone.
BGCC is a "members only" club and the nets, are for the use of club members only as are the rest of the club's facilities.
The club stewards and ground staff may challenge anyone at The Green to prove their entitlement to be on the premises
and ALL CLUB MEMBERS should therefore carry their club membership card with them at all times when on the premises.
Remember - the staff do not know all members by sight and for insurance reasons will err on the side of caution!
Colts members have their cards issued by the colts section.
If you cannot find your card then let us know as soon as possible.

screen and so if you want to drag Mum or Dad along as your guest
to watch a match at any time then we'll be pleased to see you.
Please make sure that you check the Reports and Results section of the website for your game
There are already plenty of match reports on there.
Any player under 18 years of age batting or standing up when wicket keeping MUST wear a helmet and the ECB has
now come out and said that the parental consents previously used are NO LONGER to be accepted by clubs.
Also, if a young player acts as a runner, he/she must wear a helmet even if the adult player they are acting for is NOT wearing one.

training sessions etc, it’s important that we have your correct details. .If you are one of our “Old Colts” and have been with us a while then please keep in touch
with us and let us know if you have changed address. Remember always to let your parents know that you are contacting us!
