Under 10s vs Evesham

Barnards Green under 10's finally got their season under way after a series of cancellations by various opposition.  A visit to Evesham provided their first opposition and saw the Green secure a comfortable 72 run victory.  Skipper Harrison Smith won the toss and chose to field and it was the skipper himself who took the first wicket with the third Ball of the match, he went on to take two further wickets in an impressive spell of bowling.  Issac Oakley, Harvey Smedley and Ryan Smith also picked up wickets as Evesham were reduced to 219 off their allotted overs.

In reply the Green got off to the worst possible start as Issac Oakley was bowled first ball by Bob Turner, but the impressive Alice Wilson who had also bowled and fielded well made a solid 5 and Issac soon woke up to smash a quick fire 16.  Patrick Oakley (6) and Daniel Eyles (11) bated sensibly and took the total to 251 and then Harvey Smedley strode to the wicket but tried to cut his first ball off middle stump and was bowled.  He then played well to score 7 and was aided by Daniel Helder who has shown great improvement as the season goes on and scored an important 5.  Last pair Harrison Smith (15) and Ryan Smith (3) plundered the bowling with Harrison dominating the Strike to take the Greens total to 291.

A solid start for this talented bunch and thanks go to game sponsor Julian Hall garden services.
