 Martley vs BGCC Under 12s

BGCC Under 12s vs Rushwick

The Green recently travelled to Martley and came away with their 2nd win of the season by 4 runs.  Green openers MacIntosh (30no) and Ewan Wilson (34no) dominated the innings despite some good bowling and fielding by a spirited Martley team.  Set 83 to win, Martley made a good effort, but some tight bowling and fielding restricted them to just 76 to leave the Green victorious withAndy banks, Joe Churchill, Zak Hunt, Ben Lonsborough and Ewan wilson each picking up a wicket.  For Martley Powell (12) and Kirby (10) both batted well in the run chase and once again Emily Marriott behind the stumps took another good catch.

Barnards Green under 12's started their season brightly with a 7 wicket victory over an enthusiastic Rushwick team recently at North End Lane. batting first, Rushwick scored 63 off their 16 overs helped by a fine innings by opener M.Johnson (17) who looks a sound prospect in all departments. Ewan Wilson and skipper Jack MacIntosh picked up two wickets a piece and on his debut Luke Seldon took one with an excellent over from Mat wall who also picked up 2 wickets without conceding a run.  Good fielding all round played a big part with Toby Newport and Hugh Harris showing excellent awareness and technique.  Behind the stumps Emily Marriott took an excellent catch off Wall and is progressing well as a keeper.

Rushwick bowled and fielded well to restrict the Green batsmen in the early stages with opener Ewan Wilson being run out with a superb direct hit going for a risky single.  Toby Newport then perished for a well struck 10 and Hugh Harris soon followed caught off the impressive Snowdon without scoring.  Owain Griffin then joined skipper MacIntosh who took command of the situation and it is difficult to see quite why he is not in this years county squad.  Griffin (7no) and MacIntosh (29no) then saw the Green home with two overs to spare in an entertaining encounter
