Rushwick Under 13s†vs BGCC under 13ís

Barnards Green Under 13s suffered a late order collapse to fall to a 50 run defeat against Rushwick. Batting first Rushwick made steady progress as Goodwin and Rhodes were circumspect initially before accelerating the innings with some excellent shots all around the wicket. Both retired on 30 and the mantle was taken up by Turner and Parker, both batters were brutal on anything short and wide as boundaries came all too frequently. Freeman (1 -26) saw Turner (22) well caught by Bridges and Churchill (2 -7) took two quick wickets to stem the flow having Parker caught behind for 24 as Rushwick finished on 137.
The Green reply was steady against some fast and accurate bowling, Hurd superbly used the pace of the ball to find the boundary but he was the only batter to release the shackles. Churchill succumbed to a run out and the prolific Bridges was well caught first ball. Kerr (6) kept Hurd (16) company but both fell quickly. Le Gros (23) took the attack to bowlers to put his side in with a chance, he and Bannister scored quickly but on Le Grosís dismissal Bayliss took four wickets in an over ripping out batters 7 to 10 for three runs. Michael Ellis (2 no) and Matthew Bannister (21 no) saw the innings through to the end but the Green came up 50 runs short.
