Barnards Green Cricket Club
recently celebrated 75 years of providing cricket to everyone. "The Green" could not
have achieved the recognition they have as one of the premiere clubs in the Midlands area
without the tireless efforts of a string of volunteers who remain largely anonymous. Every club
needs members who quietly get on with the job of making sure that when the players turn up
on Saturday afternoon they don't have to worry about the little details that make playing at The
Green a pleasure. The Green recognise the efforts of those people who "quietly get
on with it". You know who you are. Thanks to you all.

4th September
First team host Stourbridge, knowing that a 24 point win can secure the league title and give them
a chance of promotion to the Birmingham League. With the Swansea tourists returning from a tough test and
a win against St Fagans in Cardiff they should be looking forward to today's challenge. Come along and give your support.
Saturday - August 28th.
Well here we are, end of season approaching. Last match of the season for the 3rds and 4ths whilst the
1sts and 2nds have three tough matches over the next 7 days.
1st team are at home to Redditch, and need a win to keep up the push for promotion whilst the 2nds are now
safely established in the top half of their division and must use the remaining games to give their youngsters as much
match experience as possible in readiness for next season.
The 3rds and 4ths play Tenbury and with Tenbury 2nds in with a real chance of winning their league our 4ths can
probably expect to encounter one or two new faces in what promises to be a tough match.
Good weather is promised so get along to Northend Lane or Newalnd and give support. Admission Free!
Winners of the six-a-side were "BGCC SELECT" who overcame ARTEFACTS in the final.

clean sweep in all competitions.
1st August.
Well, here we are and August is upon us. Following on from last week's master-class from Engine, this week
it seems to have been the "Mighty Fourths" turn to supply most of the highlights with Chris Horne and Julian Hall
doing the business with the bat and providing Dick with perhaps one of the easiest declaration decisions he has had to make.
The 1sts won leaving us at the top of the table again, and another good victory from the 3rds plants them firmly in mid-table.
Judd's boys struggled again but are sure to come good soon and reproduce the form that saw them triumph last season.
Meanwhile, the "view from the patio" is becoming established as a regular alternative look at the weekend games and for those
of you who have yet to partake then get onto the forum section of the website.
All reports, photos, comments and views are welcome - just remember please nothing naughty!
Andre Russell due back soon... where are we going to fit him in?
Plenty of cricket to come at the green over the next days and weeks including cup matches, finals and touring games so please
continue the level of support at The Green which makes us perhaps the best place around to enjoy cricket.
News shortly on possible fund-raising award from Waitrose.

Barnards Green Cricket Club are delighted to have been chosen as a Waitrose "Community Cause" from July.
"Once you’ve paid for your shopping, the cashier will hand you a little green plastic token (at no extra cost).
On your way out, you’ll notice three large, transparent, plastic containers filled - to varying degrees - with the little green 'buttons’.
Above each container, there’s a summary of information relating to each local project, charity or good cause.
After reading about them, you make your choice, deciding which container is most worthy of your token,
place it in the green-’coin’ slot and, at the end of the month, Waitrose will divide and donate £1000,
accordingly, between the three chosen causes."
So, support Waitrose as they support us. Get to Waitrose and drop your token in the BGCC box.
