Colts Awards Ceremony
On Wednesday ( 29th
October 2003) the Colts
enjoyed their annual
awards ceremony at The Green.
Following a
competition to identify league teams
by their “nicknames”
and then a sumptuous buffet, the
awards winners were
announced as follows:-
Under 10’s
Batting – Jonathan Howie, Bowling –
Chris Freeman, Player of the Year – Will Watling.
Under 11’s
Batting – Alex Wren, Bowling – Josh
Asquith, Player of the Year – Thomas Banks.
Under 12’s
Batting – Callum Campbell, Bowling –
Harry Pleass, Player of the Year – Tom Clack.
Under 13’s
Batting - Richard Tuck, Bowling – Phil
Harris, Fielding – Ricky Buckland, Player of the Year – Liam
Paddock.
Under 15’s
Batting - Jonathan Lewis, Bowling –
Patrick Jelley, Most Improved Player – Tim Streather.
Under 16’s
Batting – Niall Hacking, Bowling – Rob
Tyler, Most Improved Player – David Knapper.
Girls Under 13’s
Player of the Year – Katie Smith.
Young Player of The
Year
Matthew Wren.

The Coaches and Team
Managers present expressed their pleasure at how many of The Colts
had already made the
transition into playing senior cricket at such an early age.
There is no doubt
that with so much emphasis placed on the promotion of Junior Cricket
for boys and girls, Barnards
Green Cricket Club has an exciting future ahead.

Barnards Green Cricket Club provide unrivalled facilities
for the promotion of Cricket in the Worcester area, with
particular
emphasis placed on the development of youngsters.
We run teams from the age of 10 upwards and have numerous
fully qualified coaches.
Barnards Green Cricket Club is becoming recognised as a
“centre of excellence” for cricket.
Opportunities exist for both players and sponsors and
we would love to hear from anyone interested in becoming
involved with the club.
Dates for the Senior and Colt’s winter nets sessions
will be announced here shortly. Even though the season is over our website will continue
to be regularly updated so please keep sending in your photos and news
items. You can also join in with the latest gossip on our “Open
Forum” message boards.
