NETS!!
Indoor nets have now finished.
A big effort this Saturday morning ( 15th ) should see the outdoor nets
completed ready for next week.
Make sure that you are there please!!!
Saturday league fixtures
have been finalised and details can be found on the website.
The work continues........
Many thanks to everyone who put in such a great effort over the last weekend at
both grounds.
It was good that so many turned up. For those of you who were unable to offer
assistance due
to other commitments well don't worry, there is still plenty left for you to
do.
In particular, this Saturday ( 15th ), Phil and Julian will be finishing
off work on the nets and
have asked if a few willing bodies can be rounded up to give them a hand. So...
please just turn up
at 9.30 on Saturday and let's finish what we've started.
Bargain to be had......
Due to unforseen circumstances our overseas visitor has managed to leave his
driving licence in Oz and
so has no use for the Flying Blue Flynnie mobile. So, unexpectedly, we need to
find a good
home for the following:-
M reg Citroen Xantia SE diesel. Recently serviced and MOT'd for 12
months. Loads of history,
cheap to run, low insurance group etc etc etc...
If you, or someone you know is interested in parting with £550 for an excellent
car then please contact
Phil on 07900 570552 or get in touch with the website.
Cricket Force. Whether you
are a member or not, we need your help both personally and by you getting
others involved, in continuing the work started. We need donations of
materials such as window glass, paving slabs,
railway sleepers, fencing materials paint, brushes etc etc etc. In return for
your generosity and help we can guarantee you
extensive press coverage and our everlasting support. If you know of any local
companies or traders or if you
are yourself in a position to help us in any way, then let us know. Barnards
Green Cricket Club makes a huge contribution
to the community throughout the year but needs help in order to continue to
provide some of the best facilities in the area.
If you need further information then please contact us through the website.
Barnards Green Cricket Section Colts training sessions are
due to get under way in readiness for the coming season
with the first session for those up to the age of 13 starting on Wednesday 26th
April 2006. The sessions run each wednesday
up until the latter part of July, 6.30pm till 8pm weather permitting.
Barnards Green is a focus club to the WCB and
qualified coaches are always on hand to ensure the safety of the
children attending and to ensure that they get the maximum
enjoyment from the sessions. The club have arranged games for each age
group from under 10's up to under 16's and would
be interested in hearing from any parents or helpers who would consider
becoming involved.
CRB checks will be caried out on all helpers. The membership fee for
colts will be £17 for the season, no further weekly payment
is required and all equipment will be supplied. For the older colts up to under
16, practice sessions will be held on a
monday evening from 6.30pm see the club website for start dates and further
details.
THIS IS IMPORTANT.....
The 2006 tour organisers need to get the
fixures confirmed very shortly or, even if we do have a tour,
we won't have any cricket. So far, no-one has paid a deposit but more
significantly very few people
have even indicated their intention to tour this year. Unless we have some idea
of numbers then we
cannot book accomodation or or make travel arrangements. Please therefore, if
it is your intention
to tour in Cornwall, email Steve Freeman urgently and let him know. Please
spread the word to others
who do not have internet access.
Tour venue switched to Penrith.

"It is with great sadness that I have to report the death of Betty Curtis who sadly passed away last saturday.
Betty and her husband Bruce were always staunch supporters of Barnards Green Cricket Club and indeed
extremely good neighbours. Betty served on the committee for a number of years whilst she helped to form
the Malvern Ladies Hockey club and she and Bruce spent many hours looking after the ground during the winter months.
Despite not being in the best of health over the last few years, she could be found down at the club
being pushed around in her wheelchair by members of her family with her memory as sharp as ever
and able to recall many happy days down at the Green. Our thoughts and best wishes go to all her family."
Message Boards re-launched.
The registration process for the previous chatroom proved a little challenging.
We were also asked frequently for a space where individual members can post things
onto the website themselves, so ...... We have therefore set up a new and simpler system.
To access The Green MessageBoard just log in to the Members Only area, using your members password.
If you don't yet have a password then apply for one via the website.
You won't need any more passwords. You can leave permanent messages for fellow
club members to read. Please remember that it is possible to identify who is using the site
so best behaviour ( within reason ) please.
It seems so long ago, but pictures from the league dinner have just surfaced.
One set of photos is absent, having been held back in a teasing manner!! So, if you would
like photos of the "pool" activities to appear on the website , then it's going to take a generous
charitable pledge from someone. Offers to the usual address.
