Monday 11th July – Silverware.
The seconds win the final of the 2nd XI league knockout at
6pm at Ombersley.
Claverley were worthy oponents but were well beaten by a mix of youth and experience in The Green team.

inspired to put pen to paper and create the first ( of many perhaps ), Green Poems. We hope that you will enjoy

Sunday 10th
July.
This Sunday we entertain our regular touring friends Redbats at Northend
Lane.
The fixture has been moved to Newland as the scheduled league match has been
called off. The sun is out and so
it promises to be a good day for watching cricket.
Saturday 9th July saw an uder-par performance from the 1st XI but they still managed to stave off any threat posed by visitors
Cookley. This latest win keeps The Green on top of Division one by 19 points, leaving no room for error if we are to
hope to win the championship. With a cushion of 70 points over third place however, promotion remains a definite possibility.
Congratulations to two of
our Colts on achieving a milestone in their careers.
Lewis Hooper, 5 wickets for the 2nd XI against Cookley and Liam Paddock a maiden century in the same match.

Hat-trick. Lee Hammond
was celebrating tonight, ( 7th July ) after taking a hat-trick in
the under 15’s match at Evesham.
An impressive performance saw The Green winning by some 40 runs
A personal note to Selectors.
Although those members who are actually playing at the weekend may know when, and who and where etc, there are several
dozen other players, members and just plain ordinary spectators with whom you may like to share this information.
BGCC is a Club, not just a collection of cricket teams. So, please, let’s have the team news so that we can let people know
via the website!!

A special message to all those players and members who have complained about
the lack of match reports and photographs:-
“Get off your fat lardy a**es and send some in then!!” Thanks go of course to those who do bother to send items to the website
including Engine, Sammy and MJ. It gives us chance to read the true accounts before the editor’s pencil gets at them.
Remember, you can send us whatever you like. It will probably get published, even if it’s only on the member’s only area.

The Member’s only area has had some recent updates. Don’t forget to visit and if you have something to share
then please send it in.
An appeal for helpers again for Wednesday Night’s Colt’s Session. If you can spare an hour or so then
you’ll find it
a valuable and rewarding experience. Just be at The Green at 6.30 sharp.

Congratulations Jon on a superb 118 against Netherton for the seconds. Many more to come no doubt.
And another excellent performance from James Scullion saw him take 4 for 43 against Old Hill for the 3rds.

Snipers in the bushes!!
It seems the SAS did not find
all the snipers hiding in and around the Northend Lane pitch.
First Martin Jones in his comeback game was shot in the hamstring whilst running towards the stream end
And then Ian Scullion was shot in the hamstring at the road end. The good news is that Scully only has a flesh wound.
Congratulations to the 2nd XI for reaching the final of the league knockout competition.They will meet
Claverley in the final at Ombersley CC on Monday 11th July. Your support is requested.

loyal supporters and members of the 2nds who came to cheer us home after finishing off your own match.
It was greatly appreciated and a real boost to see so many there”

The seconds are playing in the semi-final of the League Knockout at home on the 27th June.
6.30 start against Kidderminster Victoria. Forget the 20/20 at New Road. Come to Northend Lane instead.

Clean Sweep.
Congratulations go to all four of the Saturday sides this week following
victories over Bromyard,
Knighton–on–Teme and Hewell. Valuable runs from Skipper Smedley and Rich Williams saw The Green record
a convincing victory over league leaders, (not for long), Bromyard. At Newland the 3rds had their first success
of the season as Robbie Lewis (82) and Dick Brown (56), batted in a controlled and “mature” manner to chase down
282 in 50 overs following a sporting declaration by the Hewell skipper.

( remember the cricket on the beach game )? As a result of your enthusiastic clicking a sizeable donation to

Saturday 18th June – fixtures.
Well today sees the most crucial fixture of the season so far for the 1st XI as they travel to Bromyard
with only 6 points separating the two teams at the top of the league. Good luck Green,
progress will be closely monitored. Meanwhile The Singles travel to Knighton-on-Teme.
At Newland the 3rd XI must be in with a chance of recording their first victory of the season,
( depending on how many players they get left with of course after everyone
else has had their pick. <G>

League Knockout Competition.
Barnardsgreen seconds travelled to feckenham to play in the quarter final of the saturday league knockout
competition. Phil spencer won the toss and asked feckenham to take first knock,
the game was to consist of 14 eight ball overs per side
Duncan Bell and Percy Spiers proceeded to bowl with great accuracy ,making the home side struggle
to get a decent start,after 7 overs they were 42 for three with both opening bowlers only conceding 19 runs each.
The skipper then asked the two under 15 players Phil"H"Harris and Liam"Paddy"Paddock to
bowl at the end of the innings,this they did with great results Harris taking 2 well deserved wickets
and only conceding 32 runs in his 4 overs,Paddock was more expensive but he also took 2 wickets.
Fekenhams innings finished on 106 for 7,probably 40 runs short due the greens excellent fielding display.
Jon Lewis,Nick Rogers,Kev Ratcliffe,Steve Bevan and Dave White all made double figures in reply,but it was left
to Rob Middleton with 35 notout to see the green home with 4 overs and 5 wickets in hand.
The Green now entertain Kidderminster Victoria in the Semi final,the date will be published soon.
Congratulations to our 1st XI on a hard-earned victory over local rivals
Malvern CC.
This victory sees The Green firmly in second place, just behind Bromyard who are
our hosts next Saturday ( 18th June ). This should be a lively encounter with whoever
wins taking a huge step towards the championship title.

It’s another lovely Saturday, well at least it is at the moment, and we’ve
lots of cricket to
look forward to. Home and away fixtures against Ramblers should provide for lively entertainment
and, judging by recent results, an excellent standard of cricket. The 1st XI are at Northend Lane
with the 2nd’s just a short trip away at Regency Road. With the weather looking OK it’s a great
chance to get out and support The Green. Meanwhile, still looking for their first win of the season,
the 3rd’s travel to Kiddy Vic whilst the Singles take on Chain-Wire at Newland.
Following on from the Misquote of the week, Brooker’s right to reply has been
granted but
you will need to access the MEMBERS ONLY area in order to enjoy it.

hello lards this week we played at pershore and didnt have time to do
anything as i batted
number 3, kevin golder your a proper captain.This week im trying to do a batch of my own

The Fastest Inury of the season award goes to Jamie Longmore’s groin strain
after 2 balls of his 1st over.
Jamie also picked up the Longest Over of the season award at the same time!
