Bye Bye Flynnie. Gone but not forgotten.

As a farewell gift Dan has left us a little something to remember him by.

Perhaps, in a few years time, when Dan is the captain of the NZ national side,

this will become one of those "collectables" attracting more pilgrims that Lourdes.

Opinion and a personal view of the season from a respected senior club member.

"When the season started the aims were for the 1st team to get promoted which was a big ask as
not many clubs get promoted in succesive years, or at the very least to consolidate themselves in division 2.
Well done to Smeds in getting promoted to division 1 at the first time of asking!
The aim for the Singles was to win division 5 which has seemed elusive over the past couple of seasons.
Well done Ratters and the boys!
The 2nds aim was to play at least 5 teenagers in every game, (sometimes 8), ask them to take responsabilty and enjoy their cricket.
They exceeded all expectations, they grew in confidence, played for each other and put in match winning performances.
So much so that they went on a run of 13 straight victories and won the league with a game to go
Well done Engine, Scully, GG and the team!
For the 3rds, ( our 4th team ), having been promoted to division 6, survival was key.
In their league were OE'S thirds,Droitwich thirds, Old Hill thirds and numerous clubs with only one team.
In fact Hewell and Brintons pushed the Singles in games last season. Not forgetting that Worcester 3rds
and Colwall 3rds came up from division 7 and went straight back down. So survival would show great club strength.
Congratulations to all who showed commitment to the cause, on staying up even when you were often leaderless
and showered with negative vibes. It WILL be different next season!"

..... to the Seconds and the Singles on winning their respective leagues.

With the First XI also gaining promotion to Division One for next year, this will be remembered

as one of the most successful seasons ever for The Green. Well done to everyone involved, with

a special mention to "Engine" who has not only secured the title but who has also moulded

some of our young raw talent into experienced cricketers who will be knocking on the 1st's door

next season. Phil, get some rest. This is just the beginning!

Missing Match Report Found.

On the 20th August this year a major innings was played by a certain Judd Doughty.

Somehow and somewhere in the dim dungeons of Rapidegg Towers the report of

this astounding feat became misplaced. After much searching the missing piece has

been found. It is published HERE in the hope that Judder's Daddy will now believe

at least some of the rubbish that his offspring has been uttering since that day.

3rd September 2005.

Chase Development team with the trophy.

Saturday's fine win over Bromyard leaves the 1st XI just 14 points behind the league leaders and
some 34 points in front of third place Netherton. Many thanks to both teams for great entertainment
and also to all of the spectators and supporters from both clubs. Congratulations also to the 2nds and
on their performances which give us a real chance of league titles.
