Barnards Green vs Weoley Hill |
|
|
With the onset of summer, Barnards
Green 2nds entertained Weoley Hill at North End Lane which has rarely looked
so green and lush at this time of year. Batting first, the Green got
off to a solid start with Lee Dyment continuing his run of good form with a
solid 20 and along with Rob Lewis (23), they took the total to 48 before Lee
became the first of Chaudrys two victims. Lewis became the second soon
after but Jonno Boult and Keith Middleton took the score to 95 before
Middleton was bowled. Boult fell soon after for 37 and Tim Williams
fell for just 4. Mat Brookes (16) and Chris Hill steadied the innings
before Brookes perished for 16, but Hill (30) and Steve Beavan (25) saw the
Green through to a respectable 197 off their 40 overs. |
