After ten overs they had not reached double figures. Sherliker came into the attack and Fladbury tried to up the tempo. They only succeeded in holing out and he spun his way to figures of 3 for 17 aided by some excellent catches. Beavan and Harris came into the attack and reaped their rewards as Fladbury stuttered to 50 for six and twelve overs remaining. Jones and Hobday took the attack to the bowling and the pair added 60 runs in ten overs Jones fell for 20 but Hobday continued the assault with some mighty swipes through mid wicket. The Fladbury innings closed on 126 for 8 with Hobday on 52 not out. The bowling rewards were shared as Harris and Beavon picked up two wickets.

The singles innings was dominated by Rich Leech, promoted to the top of the order he destroyed the Fladbury attack with merciless display of hard hitting. His thirty two ball knock yielded 9 fours and two sixes in compiling his 68. The opening stand was worth ninety runs in 9 overs until Martin bowled Leech off his pads. The change bowlers made life a bit more difficult for the singles but Freeman (15 no) saw the side through to the conclusion despite two late wickets for Redgewell including Dean for 14. The singles reached 127 for 4 in the 21st over to open their account for the new season.
