WorcesterNomads vs BGCC under 12s - 29th April 2013

Barnards green under 12s won their second game in a week when they visited Worcester Nomads and came away with a 41 run win. Batting first, the Green got off to a solid start through Ollie Campbell and Josh Dickenson. When Ollie departed for 18, skipper Harvey Smedley came to the creese and gave good support to Josh who retired on 30 after an impressive knock. Harvey and Karl Daly then batted sensibly with some good running between the wickets and took the final score to 150 off 18 overs.
As the sun started to go down and the temperature dropped, Nomads got off to a positive start, but having taken the score to 41 off 6 overs, Charlie Kerr was then dismissed, bowled by Ben MacKintosh who then took a second wicket with his next ball when a superb diving catch from Josh Dickenson saw Sam Clark dismissed without scoring. Opener Jack Farmer dug in and played some good shots, but Nomads struggled to push the score along particularly with the introduction of Josh Dickenson who bowled an excellent spell of leg breaks, googlies and flippers. Farmer finally pushed for an excellent 19 caught and bowled by Luke Bray and then Smedley bowled Clayton to leave Nomads struggling to get near the Greens total. A tight over from Alice Wilson put the run rate out of reach and Nomads finished on a creditable 109. Special mention of Sophie Jackson who kept wicket very well against some wayward bowling at times. Thanks got to Colts sponsor Pf2
