Barnards Green under 15's entertained
Worcester U.15's in a knockout game on monday evening a provided an excellent
contest. Batting first, the Green posted an impressive 123 off their 16
overs losing just one wicket when lLewsis Hooper was caught off Doyle for
14. Liam Paddock hit a chanceless 64 no and was well supported by Phil
Harris with 32 no against an accomplished Worcester attack who bowled and
fielded well. In reply Worcester struggled early on against some accurate
bowling from James Scullion and Tom Clack who removed opener Peppiatt for
3. The introduction of Adam Price and Lee Hammond saw three further
wickets tumble with Price picking up two with some accurate bowling.
However, Worcester skipper Liam Weston started to find the boundary with some
glorious shots and despite teasing the fielders with chips into the gaps, he
brought Worcester right back into the game and at the end received good
support from Padden (12) who was then dismissed by Paddock. With just 7
required off the last over, Weston struck the winning boundary with one ball
to spare in an excellent game of youth cricket. Many thanks to colts
sponsor Inline Engineering for their continued sponsorship. |
